PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for producing pure water by bringing UV oxidation-treated water from a UV oxidation unit into contact with a platinum metal supported catalyst resin which prevent deterioration of the catalyst resin and decompose hydrogen peroxide stably over a long period.SOLUTION: In a method and an apparatus for producing pure water by subjecting to-be-treated water to a UV oxidation treatment in a UV oxidation unit 2 and performing a hydrogen peroxide removal treatment by a hydrogen peroxide removal unit 4 using a platinum-based catalyst, the TOC of feed water to the UV oxidation unit 2 is 5 ppb, and an anion exchange resin tower 3 is arranged in the subsequent stage of the UV oxidation unit 2. |
