PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a hypertext document only capable of coping with horizontal writing to be displayed in vertical writing when it is displayed by a browser without using a special plug-in or the like, and to allow a viewer to search for, select, and view characters in the vertical writing document by the browser while using the current mechanism of the Internet and HTML specifications as they are without changing at all.SOLUTION: A method specifies a place where characters are changed to vertical writing in a hypertext document, obtains actual characters in the specified place and a style of each character of the actual characters, defines the obtained style or a style obtained by adding another style according to need per character of the characters in the specified place, and creates a hypertext document in which the defined characters are arranged in the vertical direction one by one.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
