PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress leakage of evaporative fuel remaining in a purge pipe to the atmosphere.SOLUTION: An evaporative fuel treatment apparatus comprises: a purge pipe 24; an atmospheric pipe 28; a pump 25 provided in the purge pipe 24 and capable of being driven to rotate in both normal and opposite directions; and a first flow passage selector valve 32 provided closer to an intake passage 15 than the pump 25 in the purge pipe 24, and switched into one of a state in which the pump 25 communicates with the intake passage 15 and a state in which the pump 25 communicates with the atmospheric pipe 28. An ECU 37 controls a purge quantity of evaporative fuel from a canister 18 by driving the pump 25 to rotate in the normal direction. Furthermore, the ECU 37 controls the first flow passage selector valve 32 into the state in which the pump 25 communicates with the atmospheric pipe 28, drives the pump 25 to rotate in the opposite direction in the state, and causes the canister 18 to adsorb a residue of the evaporative fuel in the purge pipe 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
