PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear manufacturing method for efficiently manufacturing with high productivity without causing the cutting and peeling-off of continuous reinforced fibers, a light-weight gear in which a sleeve made of a fiber-reinforced composite material of high intensity and high rigidity, and a tooth part which is made of a resin not containing reinforced fibers so that it is soft and excellent in toughness so as to hardly generate rattling sounds and be excellent in impact resistance are made strong and integral; and a gear manufactured by the gear manufacturing method.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method, while a region 10 corresponding to a sleeve 3 of a mold 8 being set with an annular preform 6 made of reinforced fibers, a resin is filled into the region 10 and a region 9 corresponding to a tooth portion 3 in the mold 8.
