The present invention relates to a method for generating a virtual engine sound and a virtual engine sound generating system using the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method for generating a virtual engine sound comprises: a step of determining a base waveform of a virtual engine sound based on engine variables including an engine RPM; a step of firstly correcting a base level of the base waveform based on an environment variable to determine a firstly corrected waveform; a step of secondly correcting the firstly corrected waveform based on a reaction variable to determine a final waveform; and a step of generating a virtual engine sound having the final waveform through a speaker.
