The invention relates to a method for the enzyme-catalyzed production of prepolymers for producing plastics, based on an enzyme-catalyzed polymerization of monomer or oligomer compounds in a single-phase aqueous solution, in addition to the separation of the thus precipitated prepolymers and to their subsequent use for producing plastics and thus obtained plastic articles. The invention relates, in particular, to a corresponding method for the enzyme-catalyzed production of prepolymers having a polyamide bond structure for producing polyamide-based plastics.
