PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for continuously performing chemical reactions at high temperatures on an industrial scale.SOLUTION: A device includes a microwave generator, a microwave applicator 4 with a microwave-transparent tube 7 in the direction of propagation of microwaves, and an isothermal reaction zone 9. The microwave generator, the microwave applicator and the isothermal reaction zone are arranged such that a reactant in the microwave-transparent tube is lead through the microwave applicator that functions as a heating zone, the reactant is heated up to a reaction temperature using microwaves led from the microwave generator to the microwave applicator, in the microwave applicator, and the reactant under pressure is optionally transferred into an isothermal reaction zone directly connected to the heating zone immediately after exiting from the heating zone and is cooled after exiting from the isothermal reaction zone.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
