<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a neutron ray irradiation device to be generally usable for various sizes of affected parts. <P>SOLUTION: A neuron ray treatment device 1 includes: an accelerator; a target T for generating neuron rays with a charged particle ray P from the accelerator; a moderator 50 for decelerating the neutron rays and emitting a treatment neuron ray N; and a collimator 46 for irradiating a patient with the treatment neutron ray N from the moderator 50 through an opening 46a. When the treatment neutron ray N to be emitted through the opening 46a is made incident on a water phantom 60, any one of thermal neutron fluxes at predetermined reference positions Q2, Q3, Q4 is set to be equal to or more than 0.2 times of the thermal neutron flux at a reference position Q1 that is arranged on an irradiation center axial line C of the treatment neutron ray N and having a depth of 20 mm from an incident surface 60a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
