The present invention relates to a sustained-release microsphere, and a method for manufacturing the same. Provided are a sustained-release microsphere comprising a bioactive drug, a biocompatible polymer, and a release sustainer, wherein the release sustainer is a surfactant having HLB value of 10 to 20, and a manufacturing method thereof. The sustained-release microsphere according to the present invention has excellent release sustaining properties of the bioactive drug, shortens process time and reduces a remaining solvent.
