PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an image with high color discriminability.SOLUTION: A histogram generation part generates a histogram of a pixel value for an input image, concerning brightness Y, color saturation S, and a hue H. A histogram correction part subtracts each component of color saturation, brightness, and a hue of a part in which detection of foreign matter is determined by a foreign matter detection part from a histogram concerning the color saturation, brightness, and hue generated by the histogram generation part, and performs weighting according to the value of a standard histogram. The invention can be applied, for example, to an endoscope system in which color conversion is performed for an image input from a camera head through a scope.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
