PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a see-through type head-mounted image display device that can improve visibility while improving convenience, and a display control method for the image display device.SOLUTION: An image display device 1 is used by being attached to the head of an observer, and includes: an image forming part that forms a virtual image as an image visually recognized by the observer; a line-of-sight detection part that detects the position of the line of sight of the observer; and a control part that controls the image forming part on the basis of the movement of the line of sight of the observer that is calculated from the position of the line of sight detected by the line-of-sight detection part. When the movement of the line of sight is a movement of coming close to the virtual image, the control part changes a display position of the virtual image. |
