A bowstring comprising: a first ultra high molecular weight polyolefin fiber comprising a first elasticity; and a second ultra high molecular weight polyolefm fiber in contact with the first ultra high molecular weight polyolefin, the second ultra high molecular weight polyolefin comprising a second elasticity that is greater than the first elasticity; and a serving material applied to the first and second ultra high molecular weight polyolefin fibers when the first and second ultra high molecular weight polyolefin fibers are under a manufacturing tension so as to set the bowstring, and the first and second high molecular weight polyolefin fibers cooperating to reduce a loss in bowstring elasticity so as to reduce bowstring creep during use of the bowstring, wherein the first and second ultra high molecular weight polyolefin fibers are structured to facilitate the setting of the bowstring.
