Disclosed is a method for video playback, comprising: acquiring the running time of an advertisement corresponding to a video played by a video player; receiving a time query request issued by the video player and acquiring the issue time of the time query request; generating a playback time on the basis of the issue time and the running time of the advertisement; and, returning the playback time to the video player, thus allowing the video player to use the playback time as a current time in playing the video. Correspondingly, also disclosed is a device for video playback. Employment of the present application allows for implementation of skipping an advertisement during a video playback, thus conserving time and enhancing user experience. |
