receiving a set of data about information technology assets in one or more asset management domains; matching a subset of the data with a first pattern of a pattern set, the first pattern associated with at least a first information technology product; responsive to the match, determining that the subset of the data represents the first product associated with the first pattern; reporting the determination that the subset of the data represents the first product associated with the first pattern; receiving feedback on the accuracy of the reported determination that the subset of the data represents the first product associated with the first pattern; and updating pattern set information in response to the feedback; wherein: at least the matching and updating are performed by computer software running on computer hardware. |
