A medium supply device includes a feeding unit that feeds a medium among one or more media placed on a placing table, a separating unit that is arranged to come into pressure-contact with the feeding unit, a blocking portion that is movable and blocks a space formed between the feeding unit and the separating unit in an upstream side of a nip region in a conveying direction of the medium, and a curve-forming portion that presses the medium against the feeding unit side to form a curve in a width direction of the medium.

1. A medium supply device comprising:
a feeding unit that feeds a medium among one or more media placed on a placing table; a separating unit that is arranged to come into pressure-contact with the feeding unit, a nip region being formed between the separating unit and the feeding unit; a blocking portion included in a second arm that is movable, the blocking portion arranged between the feeding unit and the separating unit to block a space formed between the feeding unit and the separating unit in an upstream side of the nip region in a conveying direction of the medium; and a curve-forming portion included in a first arm, the curve-forming portion arranged on a downstream side in the conveying direction of the medium in relation to the blocking portion to press the medium interposed between the feeding unit and the separating unit toward the feeding unit to form a curve in a width direction of the medium, wherein the curve-forming portion and the blocking portion are separate members so that the curve-forming portion and the blocking portion are configured to move independently of each other, the first arm has a first rotating shaft and the second arm has a second rotating shaft, the first arm and the second arm being disposed on a side of the separating unit in relation to a conveying path of the medium, and a center axis line of the first rotating shaft and a center axis line of the second rotating shaft are different from each other.
