The present disclosure relates to an image processing device and method capable of reducing the burden of encoding/decoding. The image processing device comprises: a control information setting unit for setting control information used for controlling whether or not a vector of a base view is used as a prediction vector candidate of a dependent view in a motion prediction when encoding a multi-viewpoint image; an IVMP processing unit for performing an IVMP processing when a vector of the base view is set according to the control information to be used as a prediction vector candidate of the dependent view; a list generation unit for generating a list of the prediction vector candidates of a current block and for, when the candidate consisting of a vector of the base view is present, adding the candidate to the list; and a transmission unit for transmitting the control information. The present disclosure is applicable to image processing devices. |
