This projector is provided with: a light source device (41) which is provided with a housing (414) which houses a light source lamp (411) and which has an exhaust port (4145); a duct (7); and a fan (64). The duct (7) is provided with an inlet port (711) which is opposite of the exhaust port (4145), a branching section (716) which diverts air from the inlet port (711), a duct section (717) which extends in a first direction (A1) perpendicular to the opening plane of the exhaust port (4145), and a duct section (718) which extends in a second direction (A2) that intersects the first direction (A1). The fan (64) is arranged in a position for sucking in air flowing through the duct section (718), and the duct section (717) comprises multiple sidewalls (7171-7174), an opening (7176), and a mesh (7177).
