PURPOSE:To accurately detect the density of toner in a developer by carrying the developer blocked by a doctor in the direction reverse to the carrying direction of the developer carried by a developing roller on the upper position of a developer carrying member. CONSTITUTION:Although the developer agitaged by the rotation of an agitating roller 9 rotated in an arrow (a) direction in a developing tank 8 filled with the developer 3 up to a position (p) is carried by the rotation of a developing roller 4 rotated in an arrow (b) direction, a part of the developer is blocked by the doctor to attain stable development in a developing part 6 and the always constant quantity of developer is carried to the developing part 6. The developer blocked by the doctor 7 is carried to the reverse direction to the carrying direction of the developer carried by the developing roller at the upper part of the developer carrying member 1 by the resiliency of the developer colliding against the doctor 7. The developer 3 carried on the upper part of the member 1 is passed through the toner density sensor 2 side and discharged to the agitating roller 9 arranged on the back of the developing roller 4. Consequently, detecting density can be prevented from the generation of errors. |
