1,013,886. Multi-purpose machine tools. H. DECKEL, and F. W. DECKEL. Feb. 19, 1963 (Feb. 27, 1962], No. 6610/63. Headings B3B, B3C, B3D and B3K. A general purpose machine tool comprises a table 12 and a tool 32 relatively movable in three co-ordinate directions, the table being rotatable about a first axis inclined at 45 degrees to the clamping face of the table and a second vertical axis at 45 degrees to the first axis. The boring tool 32 is rotated and fed by a motor 22. Hand controls for feeding a pedestal 14, moving the tool-slide 18 and traversing and clamping the tool are duplicated on the sides of the machine. The slide 12 is traversed by a hand wheel in a pivoted arm and the rotatable parts are rotated by a common hand wheel 38 having two axial positions. In a modification for copymilling, the table assembly 40, 44, Fig. 2, also carries a table 48 having compound slide parts 70 carrying a pattern 72. The boring tool is replaced by a milling tool 66 and a verticallyadjustable tracer slide 62. In a further modification for copy-milling, a tracer 82, Fig. 4, and a tool 80 are controlled manually through a pantograph mechanism. A grinding wheel may also be fitted. |
