<p>The arrangement has an inductive proximity switch (3) to measure distance from a rotating component. The switch produces a direct analog measurement signal (a) based on the measured distance. An adaption device (4) adjusts switching level drift of the switch. A frequency filter (41) produces an average value signal (b) from the measurement signal. A difference amplifier (42) produces an adaptive signal (c) based on the average value and the measurement signals. A control unit (6) is connected with the adaption device and performs a monitoring function.
