According to the present invention, disclosed are a bearing steel capable of improving a life span of a bearing by improving a characteristic of a spheroidization heat treatment through alloy component adjustment and process condition control, and a method to manufacture the same. According to the present invention, the method to manufacture the bearing steel comprises: a step of performing a first spheroidization heat treatment of a wire rod constituting of 0.8-1.1 wt% of carbon (C), 1.5- 1.8 wt% of silicon (Si), 0.3-1.0 wt% of manganese (Mn), 0.03 wt% or less of phosphorus (P), 0.01 wt% or less of sulfur (S), 1.8-2.0 wt% of chrome (Cr), 0.01-1.00 wt% of nickel (Ni), 0.01-1.00 wt% of molybdenum (Mo), and the remaining of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities; performing a second spheroidization heat treatment of the wire rod processed by the first spheroidization heat treatment; performing cold forging and processing of the wire rod processed by the second spheroidization heat treatment; and performing quenching and tempering (QT) of the wire rod which has been processed by the cold forging and processing. |
