PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a predetermined amount of heat to be applied to a developer, even when a change that may affect the temperature of the developer occurs as a change of a voltage to be applied to a heater that is a heat source for a heating body, and appropriately perform fixing of the developer to a paper medium.SOLUTION: A fixing control method includes: detecting a voltage to be applied to a heater (step S101); when there is a difference in a comparison result (steps S103 and S109) obtained by comparing the detected voltage, a predetermined reference voltage to be heated to the heater in generating heat that satisfies predetermined fixing conditions, and a voltage to be detected in a voltage detection step, changing the pressure of a pressure body to adjust the contact area (fixing nip width) between the paper medium and the heating body (step S108), and controlling to maintain the developer at a predetermined fixing temperature. |
