PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a time from when the operation of an optical pickup is stopped with high temperature detection to when the operation restarts.SOLUTION: When the temperature of an optical pickup PU measured by a temperature sensor 7 is higher than a first temperature threshold, a main CPU 506 moves the optical pickup PU in a direction approaching a cooling fan to cool it, as a cooling mode at the time of high temperature detection, until its temperature drops to a second temperature threshold, and also causes a semiconductor laser 405 to turn off. When the temperature of the optical pickup PU is lower than the first temperature threshold and the data volume temporarily stored by a buffer memory 503 is greater than a volume threshold, the main CPU 506 moves the optical pickup PU in a direction approaching the cooling fan to cool it while keeping the reproduction operation of an AV decoder unit 504 on, as a cooling mode during reproduction operation, and also causes the semiconductor laser 405 to turn off. |
