PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and device for a cylindrical member capable of precisely detecting a deviation in a width direction of the cylindrical member made by forming a belt-like member into a cylindrical shape.SOLUTION: When a cylindrical member 9a, formed into a cylindrical shape by winding a belt-like member 8a around a molding drum 5 and splicing the length direction front end E1 and the length direction rear end E2 of the belt-like member 8a, is inspected, the drum width direction end position L1 of the belt-like member 8a wound around the molding drum 5 is inspected by a position sensor 2 across the whole length in the length direction of the belt-like member 8a. Based on the inspection data by the position sensor 2 and position data of the drum width direction end surface DL of the molding drum 5 orthogonal to a drum axis DX, a deviation degree in the width direction of the belt-like member 8a wound around the molding drum 5 is calculated by a control unit 4 to determine, based on the calculation result, whether or not the deviation in the width direction of the belt-like member 8a is within an allowable range. |
