PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chassis type relay device capable of locating a fault part within the device.SOLUTION: A communicability monitoring section 16 of each of a plurality of line cards determines the presence/absence of communicability to each of the line cards by periodically exchanging a monitoring frame via a fabric card with each of the other line cards excluding the line card per se as a partner. A fault determination section 19 of a management card acquires identification information of a line card for which the absence of communicability is determined, from each of the plurality of line cards and calculates a count value for each line card by counting how many times the same identification information is acquired, among the acquired identification information. The fault determination section 19 then determines the presence/absence of a fault for each of the plurality of line cards on the basis of a magnitude relation of the count value for each line card. |
