Fly-ash and sand can be used a fillers. Aggregates are expanded polystyrene, sintered pellets of clay or fly-ash, and foamed slag, whilst soaps used are the stearates of sodium, potassium, lead, aluminium, ammonium, calcium, cadmium, lithium, magnesium and zinc. As catalysts for the alkali-aluminium reaction oxides of iron, manganese, zinc and cobalt can be used. Lime or cement are the binders.</p> |
