PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid powertrain unit for motor vehicles including engagement devices on both sides of an electric machine.SOLUTION: A hybrid powertrain unit comprises: an internal combustion engine E; and a gearbox device C including a primary shaft 3 connected to a shaft 5 via a clutch device 6. The gearbox device C comprises a secondary shaft that includes a pinion 9 meshing with a first crown wheel 10 of a differential D, and an electric machine M functioning as both an electric motor and an electric generator, having a shaft 16 connected to a second crown wheel 19. The shaft 16 includes an endless belt 30 engaged on a first pulley 31 and a second pulley 32, and is connected to the shaft of the internal combustion engine E on a side opposite to the gearbox device. A first engagement device 25 is arranged between the shaft 16 and the second crown wheel 19 of the differential D and a second engagement device 34 is arranged between the shaft 16 and the first pulley 31, and both the first engagement device 25 and the second engagement device 34 are arranged coaxially with the shaft 16 on two opposing sides of the electric machine M, respectively.
