PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens, especially a zoom lens for a large-sized camera, achieving high magnification, a large aperture, and reduction in size and weight and having high optical performance over an entire zoom range from a wide angle end to a telephoto end, and an imaging apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: A zoom lens includes, in order from an object side to an image side: a positive first lens group immovable for zooming; a negative second lens group movable during zooming; a negative third lens group movable during zooming; and a fourth lens group including an aperture stop and immovable for zooming. The fourth lens group has a first sub lens group disposed closer to the object side than the aperture stop and a second sub lens group disposed closer to the image side than the aperture stop. The zoom lens appropriately sets: a relation between a maximum height h41 from an optical axis and a maximum height hap from the optical axis during the open state of the aperture stop, in an axial ray of the first sub lens group in an infinity focusing state and at a wide angle end; and a lateral magnification &bgr;4 of the fourth lens group in an infinity focusing state and at a wide angle end. |
