The purpose of the present invention is to improve the image quality of images. An addition unit generates an addition value by adding together all values in which each pixel signal of a plurality of first pixels are weighted using a first weighting factor from between first and second weighting factors in which a difference becomes smaller than a prescribed allowable value, such difference being the difference between: a value found by adding together all values in which the sensitivity to visible light of each of the plurality of first pixels, having sensitivity to visible light and invisible light, is weighted using the mutually different first weighting factors; and a value in which the sensitivity to visible light of a second pixel having sensitivity to visible light and invisible light is weighted using the second weighting factor. A weighting processing unit weights the pixel signal of the second pixel using the second weighting factor. A visible light component generation unit generates the difference between the pixel signal of the weighted second pixel and the addition value as an invisible-light component in the pixel signal.
