PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the fuel efficiency of engine oil compositions for large low, medium and high speed engines.SOLUTION: The present invention is directed to a method for improving the fuel efficiency of engine oil compositions for large low, medium and high speed engines by reducing the traction coefficient of the oil by formulating the oil using at least two base oils of different kinematic viscosity, where the difference in the kinematic viscosity between the base oils is at least 30 mm/s, and adding one or more detergents to the composition.
