<p>A catalyst system (I) is prepd. by reacting (a) rhodium trinitrate, (b) hydrazine and (c) a tert. phosphine in a solvent under otherwise inert conditions. When (c) is triphenylphosphine and 1 mole (a) is reacted with excess, pref. at least 3.5 moles, (c) and at least one mole (b) in degassed methanol, (I) comprises new Rh complexes of formulae (II) and (III); (II) is di(mu-hydrazine-N1:N2)-bis (bis(triphenylphosphine) rhodium (I) dinitrate, and (III) is mu-3-carbopentazane-N1,N4: N2,N5-bis bis(triphenylphosphine) rhodium (I) dinitrate; (II) predominates with short reaction times and (III) with longer reaction times.</p> |
