PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent painting defects from being caused by an air pocket in a body during electrodeposition coating.SOLUTION: A vehicle body structure according to the invention includes: a shelf shaped front panel 30; and a rear panel 20 formed by a shelf shaped part 24 and a vertical wall part. The vehicle body structure is formed so that a front end flange part 240 of the shelf shaped part 24 of the rear panel 20 is overlapped with a rear end flange part 33f of the front panel 30 from above, both flange parts 33f, 240 are partially joined to each other, and a space S is formed between mating surfaces of the flange parts 33f, 240 so as to penetrate in a fore and aft direction. At the lower side of the shelf shaped part 24 of the rear panel 20, an air pocket part T is formed at a position which communicates with the space S and is located lower than the space S. An inclined guide surface 245, which guides accumulated air A to the air pocket part T by a buoyant force, is provided at the shelf shaped part 24 of the rear panel 20. |
