Applicator with extendable implement

An applicator system for applying a product to a surface includes an extendable implement comprising a stem (110) and an applicator (116) including a brush (118) and a tip (120) attached distally to the brush. A cap (122) is securely disposed on the top of the stem (110). A push button (124) is arranged on the top of the cap and is connected by a linkage (128) housed in the stem (110) to the tip (120) and may be actuated to extend the tip (120) relative to the brush (118) to facilitate application of the product. Optionally the system may include a locking mechanism. Preferably the brush comprises a blub shaped unit of bristles overmoulded to a shaft shaped unit of bristles and the tip is stretchably extendible from the brush.
