A circlip 13 is used to retain an end closure 2 in a tubular body 1 of a fluid-actuated cylinder. The circlip has protuberances 13a, 13b, and 13c, and is located in a circumferential recess 14 in the closure 2, and arcuate slots 15 in the body 1, the circlip being retained in the correct circumferential position by a screw 18 which locates in a recess 17. The closure 2 has a passageway 2a for pressure fluid, and a recess 12 to accept the end of a stem 6a to which a piston 5 is welded. The cross-section of the circlip reduces in width from the portion 13a to 13b and 13c, respectively.</p> |
