Provided is an automatic analytical apparatus (100) having a conveyor device (23) for conveying analyte racks (2, 3) on which one or more analyte containers (1) containing an analyte for analysis are positioned arrayed at regular intervals in the conveying direction, and an analysis unit for performing analysis of the analyte contained in the analyte containers (1), wherein the conveyor device (23) is provided with an analyte rack gripping mechanism (59) by which analyte racks (2, 3) placed on a first conveyance path along which the analyte racks are to be conveyed are gripped from either side laterally to the conveying direction between grip plates, and are conveyed along the first conveyance path, and a grip width controller (28) for controlling the distance between the grip plates of the analyte rack gripping mechanism, according to the width of the analyte rack. In so doing, there can be provided an automatic analytical apparatus with which increase in the size and cost of the device can be minimized, while having the ability to transport multiple different types of analyte racks. |
