An automatic valve play compensation device for a valve drive of a reciprocating-piston internal combustion engine has a first control element (2) which is of pot-shaped form and which, for the compensation of valve play that arises in the valve drive, is guided in longitudinally displaceable fashion on a second control element (4). Here, the first control element (2) is assigned an idle stroke device (23) which has an idle stroke element which is movable axially by a maximum adjustment stroke relative to the first control element (2) counter to the force of a spring means. To significantly improve a function and an arrangement of the idle stroke device with the use of an automatic valve play compensation device in a valve drive, it is the intention for the idle stroke device (23) to be arranged at the face side on an end, averted from the second control element (4), of the first control element (2). |
