Disclosed is a tail gate latch for a vehicle. The tail gate latch for a vehicle of the present invention includes a latch main body part for confining a striker in multi-stages, and a safety lever part for releasing a confined state of the striker. The latch main body part includes: a latch body which is rotationally installed in a latch housing by comprising an entrance groove part for the striker to enter, and has a full open groove part, a half lock groove part and a full lock groove part formed on an outer circumference part, and is rotated in a forward direction by being pushed by the striker entering the entrance groove part; a pawl lever which is elastically supported toward the latch body, and maintains a rotational state of the latch body by being hooked at one side among the full open groove part, the half lock groove part and the full lock groove part; a close lever which is installed at the same axis as the latch body by comprising a hooking groove part at an edge part, and is rotated by being linked with movement of a cable; a release lever which is installed at the same axis as the pawl lever by comprising a pin guide part at an edge part, and is elastically supported toward the latch body, and is rotated in a reverse direction to be separated from the latch body by being linked with the operation of the safety lever part, and is folded or connected to the pawl lever to be rotated reversely by being linked with the pawl lever during reverse rotation; and a connecting lever which is rotationally installed on the close lever by comprising a plurality of pin parts touching or being separated from each of the full open groove part, the pin guide part and the hooking groove part, and rotates the latch body in a forward direction further by delivering rotary force of the close lever to the latch body. |
