<p>The manifold assembly comprises a manifold 210 and a stand 220 and is used in hot water installations having at least two boilers. The manifold has a side wall 212a and top 214 and bottom plates that define a chamber 240. The manifold also includes a plurality of inlets 218a and outlets 218b in fluid communication with the chamber that ideally include threaded bosses for attachment to pipe connections or blanks. The top plate includes at least one further inlet or outlet 218c. The stand may be integral with the manifold or provided separately (120, figure 1) and has a platform 222 spaced from the top plate, and a side wall 224 including an aperture 226. The side wall may comprise legs. Where the stand is separate from the manifold, the legs may fit inside a rim (112b, figure 1) of the manifold so they cannot splay when supporting a water tank. Where the stand is integral with the manifold, the platform may include engaging portions 232 supporting a removable plate 230. The plate is shaped so that openings 228 are formed between the plate and the platform. A method of manufacturing is also claimed.</p> |
