A feed auger traversable over the silage to convey it to the centre of a silo for discharge is provided with a casing open on the underside to allow contact between the auger and the silage. The casing provides a storage space on the advance side of the auger and has stripper means adjacent its top so that the volume conveyed is increased. Various arrangements of casings are illustrated and in one example two parallel augers are provided at different levels. |
