A high order modulation method, comprising: converting information to be transmitted into bit data, and demultiplexing the bit data into more than one channel of bit data; and performing quadrature amplitude modulation on the more than one channel of bit data to generate symbol data, and outputting the generated symbol data, wherein an order of the quadrature amplitude modulation is not less than 64, and the quadrature amplitude modulation comprising mapping the bit data to the symbol data, and the mapping the bit data to the symbol data comprising dividing the bit data into three parts, wherein a first part of the bit data is configured to be mapped to constellation points and divide the constellation points into disjoint subsets of constellation points, and the subsets are defined as large regions; a second part of the bit data is configured to be mapped to the constellation points and divide subsets of the constellation points in each large region into disjoint subsets, and the disjoint subsets in each large region are defined as small regions; and a third part of the bit data is configured to be mapped to corresponding constellation points in the small regions.
