PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a compact optical receiver module in which a plurality of light-receiving elements and a preamplifier circuit are mounted on the bottom wall of a package, and an optical splitter and a reflector mounted on a carrier arranged apart from the bottom wall by a support member are accommodated with their positions aligned.SOLUTION: This manufacturing method includes the steps of: mounting a PD array 29 and a lens array 28 in a package using the reference plane 23a of the package as a point of reference; mounting a reflector 27 and an optical splitter 26 on a carrier 25 using its rear end side 25a as a point of reference and fabricating an intermediate assembly M; and having the mounting face of the carrier 25 opposed to the lens array 28 and placing the rear end side 25a of the carrier 25 against the reference plane 23a, then moving the intermediate assembly M so that the reflected light of the reflector 27 is received by the PD array 29 via the lens array 28, and adjusting the optical alignment of the reflector 27 with the lens array 28. |
