In the present invention, a first compressed portion is formed by heating a plastic powder (5) packed into a cavity (7) of a mold (6), and also sintering a first portion of the plastic powder (5) packed into the cavity (7), in a first compression state. A second compressed portion is formed by sintering a second portion of the plastic powder (5) packed into the cavity (7), in a second compression state. Then, a large number of interconnected minute voids are formed in the first compressed portion, and a large number of interconnected minute voids smaller than the voids in the first compressed portion are formed in the second compressed portion. Such work for producing a plastic sintered body (1) is continuously performed within a single mold (6). Two different types of porous portions having different sizes of voids are formed merely by sintering one type of plastic powder (5) within the mold (6).
