A latch device comprises a circular mounting member G having a front-opening recess 11 generally rectangular in plane except for one side 18 which is arcuate, the recess having a slot 42 in the rear side wall thereof, a bolt housing K secured to the rear side of the rear wall and supporting a spring loaded slidable bolt F, and a handle I having an operating projection 25 and a rearwardly projecting flange including a portion 40 extending through the slot 42 and normally engaging an abutment 36 on the bolt, the handle being pivotally connected to the recess 11 in the mounting member. As shown, the bolt is retracted by outward pivoted movement of the handle and is lockable in the projected position by a key-operated barrel of a cylinder lock H mounted in the handle and operated to engage and disengage a locking member 45 with and from a pair of lugs welded to the bottom of the mounting member.</p> |
