PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical cell which can be manufactured at a low cost.SOLUTION: A polymer secondary cell 1 comprises: a multilayer electrode body 10; and an outer sheath 30 in which the multilayer electrode body 10 is encased. The multilayer electrode body 10 has: first electrode layers 11; and a second electrode layer 13 laminated on each first electrode layer 11 on each side thereof with a polymer electrolytic layer 15 interposed therebetween. The multilayer electrode body 10 is provided with at least one first opening 17 extending through the first electrode layer 11 and the polymer electrolytic layer 15 adjacent to the first electrode layer 11. Inside the first opening 17, the second electrode layers 13 located on the opposing sides of the first electrode layer 11 contact each other. Further, the outer sheath 30 has: a first metal plate 31 electrically connected with the first electrode layers 11; a second metal plate 33 electrically connected with the second electrode layers 13; and an encapsulation member 41 sealing between the first metal plate 31 and the second metal plate 33 around the multilayer electrode body 10.
