PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base oil for a lubrication oil, capable of achieving all of lower viscosity, viscosity-temperature properties, low temperature viscosity properties and low volatility in high levels, a method for producing the same, and a lubrication oil composition.SOLUTION: This base oil for the lubrication oil has a urea adduct value of 4 mass% or less, a viscosity index of 130 or more, a CCS viscosity at -35°C of 2,000 mPa s or less, a product of a dynamic viscosity and a NOACK evaporation amount at 40°C of 250 or less, and a content of a saturated portion based on the total amount of the base oil for the lubrication oil of 90 mass% or more. The method for producing the base oil for the lubrication oil includes a step of performing hydrogenolysis/hydrogenating isomerization of a raw material oil containing a normal paraffin so that the obtained treated material satisfies the above-mentioned conditions for each of the urea adduct value, viscosity index, CCS viscosity at -35°C, product of a dynamic viscosity and a NOACK evaporation amount at 40°C, and the content of a saturated portion. |
