The preset invention provides an electrochemical device and a method for manufacturing the same, the electrochemical device comprising: an electrode assembly which is formed in the form of a jelly-roll in which a first electrode, a separator and a second electrode are wound, and which is provided with a hollow part in the center thereof; a first tap plate which is installed on the upper surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the first electrode, and which is provided with a first through hole, corresponding to the hollow part, in the center thereof; and a second tap plate which is installed on the lower surface of the electrode assembly and electrically connected to the second electrode, and which is provided with a second through hole, corresponding to the hollow part, in the center thereof.
