PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform easy changeover of the flight mode of a portable terminal without a user's operation of the portable terminal.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 101 is changed over to a flight mode for controlling an electric wave transmitted from the portable terminal when receiving an ultrasonic wave for ultrasonic communication transmitted from a transmitter installed in the vicinity of the gateway of an electric wave inhibited area at the time of entering the electric wave inhibited area, and releases the flight mode of the portable terminal 101 when receiving the ultrasonic wave for ultrasonic communication transmitted from the transmitter at the time of exiting from the electric wave inhibited area.
