The invention relates to a method for obtaining a product flow (P) containing Xe, in particular a highly pure product flow (P) containing Xe, from a gaseous input flow (E) containing methane, comprising the following steps: cooling and possibly partially condensing the input flow (E), introducing the input flow (E) into a first column (31), withdrawing a top product in the form of a methane-rich gaseous phase (G) from the top of the first column, withdrawing a bottom product in the form of a (methane-poor) liquid phase (F) containing Xe from the bottom of the first column, introducing the bottom product into a second column (33), and withdrawing the product flow (P) containing Xe from the head of the second column (33). The coldness necessary for the condensers of the two columns and possibly the cooling of the input gas is provided by means of a cooling circuit, which is preferably supplied with coolant from a partial flow of the heated top product of the first column. The invention further relates to a corresponding plant (1) for obtaining Xe. |
