PURPOSE: A thermopile infrared ray detector is provided to increase precision of the temperature detection by mounting an infrared lay transmitting member between a temperature measurement object and an infrared lay detector. CONSTITUTION: A thermopile infrared ray detector comprises a convex lens(1), a metallic CAN case(2) and a header(3). The convex lens is installed between an infrared lay detector and a temperature measurement object. The metallic CAN case comprises an infrared lay transmitting window. The head comprises a lead(4) terminal which electrically connects to a thermopile chip. The temperature of the temperature measurement object is detected with the thermopile chips from the radiation infrared ray. A material of the transmitting window is made of a material having the penetration characteristic that the transmitting member has.
