PURPOSE: A light emitting device is provided to secure the durability of the package made of the resin mainly by adopting the reinforcing material in the opposite side of the light emission side. CONSTITUTION: A package body(18) is comprised of the first and second sides, and a plurality of sides between the first and the second side. The first and the second side locate opposite to each other. A block(15) for the first and the second external terminal is comprised of the first and the second side, and the side between the first and the second side. The block for the first and the second external terminal is arranged to the both end of the inner part of the package body respectively so that the first side makes a coplanar together with the first main surface of the package body. The light emitting diode chip is arranged between the blocks for the first and the second external terminal in inner part of the package body. The first and the second electrodes are connected to the bonding area of the block for the external terminal respectively. A reinforce construction layer(13) is offered to the second major surface of the package body in order to keep the structure of the package body.
